I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds licenses in Missouri and Texas. I am honored to hold space for others recovering from depression, anxiety, addiction, and mood dysregulation. I have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapies, and Mindfulness and Meditation. Family dysfunction impacted my development, and I did not learn effective ways to cope. I am grateful that I sought help and have now been in recovery 35 years. I believe that because of my own challenges, I can be an “angel” bending over you, encouraging you to grow.
Merriam-Webster defines sacred as “entitled to reverence and respect”. In our work together, I will be present with you and offer respect, kindness, compassion. and curiosity so that I can encourage you on your journey. By sharing practices of forgiveness, self-compassion, and self awareness I help others grow deeper in their awareness so that they can live their life as the spiritual beings they are created to be. I look forward to helping you explore what that might look like for you!
In my free time I enjoy reading, baking, hanging out with my dogs and cat, and spending time in nature. I’m grateful to those who have guided and supported me on my spiritual journey and look forward to “paying it forward” by being a part of your journey!
I am a counseling intern currently pursuing my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology at Avila University. My areas of interest include depression, anxiety, OCD, developing coping skills, personal growth, and life stressors such as breakups, life transitions, family conflicts, school stress, and more. I draw from multiple theoretical orientations in order to provide personalized therapy for clients. I strive to create a safe space for people to feel comfortable and open to sharing their life experiences and struggles.
I went into counseling because as a teenager, I needed an understanding and empathetic adult to listen to me. Now as a counselor, I can be that adult for others who need it. I have had anxiety my entire life, so I know how hard it can be to open up and be vulnerable with someone; I hope to be the person who you can trust with your struggles.
I’m someone who likes to keep it real while appreciating the lighter side of life through my sense of humor. When not in session or classes, I enjoy baking, reading, playing video games, listening to music, and taking care of my two fluffy dogs!
